We have all probably had the experience where our world turns upside down in the blink of an eye. News of a loved one in peril or worse or the seconds after an accident where you wish you could go back in time and adjust time and space for mere seconds to change the outcome of events. A year ago I received news that my son had been in a serious car accident. I had about 15 seconds to hang up the phone as I was on an airplane and the doors had been shut and the attendant was giving me the "eye" For the next 45 minutes until we landed again I mulled over all the scenarios of what might have followed the accident. Thankfully he was not seriously injured and a miracle occurred.
As I read the headlines about the abduction of the Israeli soldier today, in violation of the agreed-up ceasefire, my heart goes out to the parents of that young man Hadar Goldin. In the blink of an eye his life has changed, as has the lives of his family and fiancé. While I felt the anguish of the unknown for 45 minutes, these people will feel it much longer. My heart goes out to them. Please keep them in your prayers and supplication for his safe return and for a miracle on their behalf.
