Andean Foundation for a Better Life Tour
Day 1, Friday, Feb. 13: Today begins your adventure to Peru. You will need to catch the shuttle at 4:45 am in order to get a place in line for the airline check-in. You will be departing from Calgary on Lan Flight # 1166 at 07:15 am and arriving in Houston at 12:00 pm. Then, at 5:10 pm., you will board Lan flight #8276 and arrive in Lima, Peru at 1:05 am. You will then proceed through Peru immigration, collect your baggage and pass through customs. You will then need to find a good place to rest, because you have an early flight to catch the next morning. Overnight airport lounge – 6 hours of waiting for flight to Cuzco
Day 2, Saturday, Feb. 14: After your short rest, you will board LANPERU flight #2017 which departs from Lima at 5:50 am and arrives at 7:10 am in Cuzco. We will be met by our guide Rossio and the her driver Raul. You will then transfer to your home for the next four nights, the AMARU Hostel. Unpack, shower and take some bed rest until 1 pm. Rossio will come to take you out for a 1/2 day exploring. You will visit the sights and sounds of Cuzco, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambo & Machay. We have arranged to eat dinner at a near by Restaurante. They have a stage there and you might be encouraged to perform some of your own music.

Day 3, Sunday, Feb. 15: Rossio will pick you up to transfer and
accompany you to the LDS chapel in Cuzco, for Sacrament meeting. The afternoon is for visits to the poor people hospitals in Cuzco.

Day 4, Monday, Feb. 16: Service/Tour Day! (hospitals, orphanages and schools)
Today is also a good day for viewing the Andean Stove Project at some villages
Rossio will take of all the arrangements.

Day 5, Tuesday, Feb. 17: Service/Tour Day! (hospitals, orphanages and schools)
Today is also a prep day for the Andean Stove Project at some village

Day 6, Wednesday, Feb. 18: Sacred Inca Valley Experience – Pisac Market
Today we will head down into the Sacred Inca Valley to see the sites and mystique that this valley holds. We will visit the Pisac Market in the morning and visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. Overnight Urubamba (Amaru Valley)
Day 7, Thursday, Feb. 19: This morning at 8 am., you will catch the ‘Peru Rail Vista Train’ at Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu. The train ride will take 90 minutes. Pack only what you might need for the one night stay and leave the rest of your luggage with Rossio, who is going back to Cuzco. She will give us awesome instructions and all the passes and tickets for the next 2 days. The small town at the base of the mountain of Machu Picchu is our site for the evening.
Overnight– Aguas Callientes (La Cabana Hotel)
Day 8, Friday, Feb. 20: Free day in Machu Picchu and Aguas Callientes. You must catch the 3:30 pm train back to Ollantaytambo. Then we will share taxi back to Cusco on the public transportation. Overnight (Amaru Hostel Cuzco)
Day 9, Saturday, Feb.21: Free Morning to pack and take care of any last minute shopping in Cuzco. You will take the LanPeru flight # 2040 back to Lima at 12:55 pm and will arrive at 2:20 pm. Rossio will pick us up from the Amaru Hotel. 10:45 pm to take us to the Cuzco Airport. Upon arriving in Lima, check your bags in on Lan flight #8277, which will be departing at 2:40 am. I suggest that we make our way into Lima and have a farewell dinner the district of Miraflores. It is well worth it! The view at sunset at this beautiful Oceanside setting will cement your great memories of Peru. You will need to head back to the airport from the Larco Mar at 10:00 pm.
Day 10, Sunday, Feb. 22: Your Lan flight #0855 departs at 12:50 am and arrives in Dallas at 8:40 am. Your connecting American flight # 1201 leaves Dallas at 10:55 am and arrives in Calgary at 1:40 pm.
