Shalom! We have are confirming details for the Jordan 2024 Tour Adventure.
We will be travelling by Bus & Horse Carriages & Jeeps & Camels for this adventure. This is an Arabic cultural experience that starts the moment we cross the Israel/Jordan border. Our Jordanian land operator has been rated #1 for many years in Jordan.
MONDAY - March 18, Day 1: Allenby Bridge – Amman City tour – Jerash – Amman
We will be spending one more night in Jerusalem at the Dan Panorama. After an early breakfast, we will take our transfer bus to the border to cross into the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from Allenby Bridge, our Jordanian guide will meet & assist the group with all border formalities. We then drive to the capital of Jordan, Amman. Amman is a city of wide streets, modern shops and spacious villas dotting the hills; yet the entire area reflects a bygone civilization. A drive around the city takes us to the impressive Roman amphitheater which once accommodated 6,000 spectators. We will then be driving north to Jerash which was founded by the soldiers of Alexander the Great in 300 B.C. Jerash now stands as the best-preserved ruins of a provincial Greco-Roman city in the world. Along a 2-mile stretch we’ll see the oval shaped forum encircled by 56 graceful Roman columns, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, and the massive Roman Theater. TUESDAY - March 19, Day 2: Madaba – Mt. Nebo - Petra
After breakfast drive south to Mt. Nebo where Moses viewed the Promised Land, continue to Madaba, a Byzantine center of master mosaics, to see the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land. The highlight of our day will be the visit one of the most magnificent sites in the Middle East. This “Rose Red City” is literally carved into the sides of a deep gorge. Petra's most famous monument, the Treasury, appears dramatically at the end of the canyon. Used in the film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," the towering facade of the Treasury is only one of myriad archaeological wonders to be explored at Petra. Riding on horseback (no riding experience required) between the 100 ft. cliffs we will see a remarkable sight: temples, tombs, and dwellings chiseled right into the limestone walls. WEDNESDaY - March 20, Day 3: Wadi Rum:
After breakfast drive to the magnificent desert of Wadi Rum to explore the desert by 4 X 4 open top driven by local Bedouins, from the village of Wadi Rum visit the Nabataean temple, located near the Rest House in Rum village. Thamudic and Kufic rock art cover the surrounding area of the temple, which was erected around the first century BC. The Latin inscription on the altar depicts that the temple was in use during the first half of the third century. Next drive to Lawrence Spring with a short stop and then we'll go to see the map. Then, on to a large area of sand dunes piled up against the mountains. Climbing is allowed! Then we'll go to see the ancient inscriptions. We will mount our Camels for a desert trek across the barren landscape till we arrive at the tents of the desert Nomads, to partake in a traditional lunch. After Wadi Rum, we drive to Arrava Border to Israel, Jordanian guide will assist with all departure formalities. We will make our way to our luxury hotel in Eilat on the Red Sea. THURSDAY - March 21, Day 4 – “Eilat & the Negev Desert”:
Today we will leave the shore line of the Red Sea and drive up through the Negev Desert and stopping at the largest natural crater in the world, “Ramon Crater.” We will visit the ancient city of Beersheba and the Pillars of Solomon in the heart of the Negev Desert. We will stop at a Bedouin Camp and see the living contrasts for the ‘Kings of the Desert’. Our tour bus will arrive in Tel Aviv in the late afternoon and we will spend the last night on the shores of the Mediterranean Ocean. O/N Tal Hotel Tel Aviv.
FRIDAY, March 22, Day 5 – “Going Home”:
Our Air Canada flight AC 081 is scheduled to depart at 11:55 am. Our arrival in Toronto is at 5:55 pm., then, we will connect with our flight to Calgary. Our scheduled arrival in Calgary is at 11:15 p.m. on Air Canada Flight 159
